Full bodied Shiraz, silky in texture with aroma and flavour of dark red fruits & chocolate. French oak aging contributes spice & toasted smoky characters.
This Shiraz wine was sourced using fruit from our ‘Rock Hill’ vineyard – planted in 1994. Grown on a block with an elevated view of the sea, it has an unforgiving soil structure, with sharp, flat rock, limestone and sandstone.
The grapes & juice were then put into small batch open fermenters, where they slowly converted from grape juice to quality wine. Along the way its ferment cap was hand plunged twice a day, then pumped over 3 times each day in the last 4 days, to complete a 12 day ‘on skins’ ferment. One quarter of the new wine finished its ferment in 3 year old French & American oak barrels.
Alcohol by volume; 14.5% v/v Varieties; 100% Shiraz Geographical Indication; McLaren Vale, South Australia

Only McLaren Vale could have produced this deeply coloured single vineyard wine, its plush black fruits wrapped in a coat of dark chocolate, sauced by French oak.
