'Pink Hit' Gewurztraminer
2010
Intensely flavoured with a unique perfumed bouquet, this Gewurztraminer has passion fruit and lychee characters on the nose and palate. Left slightly sweet, and made in a light to medium bodied style. It retains spicy tropical fruit flavours and finishes with a crisp food friendly acidity.
The Vintage
Vinification
At around13.0 Baume the grapes were harvested in the cool of the night, and then whole bunched pressed immediately while at peak freshness to retain their unique characters. Specially selected yeast strains were used to ferment the juice for 2 weeks in a stainless vat at a maximum of 18 degrees C. As soon as it was stable and ready for bottling it was packaged in premium claret bottles and closured with a screw-cap to retain maximum fruit freshness.

EDITORIAL: I have to confess to a decades old love for Gewurztraminer and after years of being disappointed at Australian offerings I am very pleased to see good ones coming to market; I just loved this its not a great wine but hell it’s a very enjoyable one on a dispassionate professional scale I think it rates 90 on a hedonistic one I think 94 on whatever scale its outstanding value at $17
Wines in this section that tickled my taste-buds enough to get a ……..TOP KEY…………
