Wine Detail
"Hunt Rd" Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon
2009
One of the pioneering carriageways in McLaren Vale, Hunt Road runs from north
to south and borders the cabernet sauvignon vineyard planted by Steve Conte
and his father in the 1970’s. An ancient creek once meandered through this block
and is still the cause of some sticky situations for our tractors during winter.
Over 30 years old, our cabernet vines deliver intensely flavoured berries that
result in this deliciously rich and fulsome wine. Dark chocolate, blackberry
and a hint of capsicum are complexed by smoky French oak and smooth tannins
to provide a wine deep in flavour and long in finish. It makes superb drinking.
